A wonderful day

The weather was once again fine for the Epiphany celebrations in Karystos
.

  Dignitaries at Church

Lots of people attended the morning Mass at the church of St. Nikolas, including the newly ellected Mayor of Karystos with members of his Council and local dignitaries.

At the port

Following Mass, all the congregation, dignitaries and priests, gathered at the port for the usual    'benediction of the waters'. A few brave young men dived in the cold sea water to catch the cross.

Returning to Church

When the short celebration was over, the priests followed, by the congregation, returned to church to collect Holy Water for their homes.
